FINALLY - BofA Product Change!!

For those of you that may be interested, a few data points and interesting points of note:

BoA BankAmericard Secured $1500 CLI from 2018
Became unsecured in early 2020
Requested first PC in fall of 2020 with no luck
Requested 2nd PC in winter of 2021 with no luck
Requested CLI to $4000 successfully in Feb 2021
Just requested a CLI to $5500 yesterday successfully
ALSO requested a PC later yesterday afternoon successfully!

Don't know if it was the luck of the draw in terms of a CSR and/or the CLI I had, but whatever it is no complaints now.

So you changed to the Cash Rewards? Will it stay a Mastercard?

The last time I PC'ed with BofA was many years ago and it took nearly 2 months for the change to be complete. Very strange. Please let us know if that is still the case.

I have recent PC experience with BofA. My PC this year was surprisingly quick compared to the old process of 2 months. The PC online was a few days and I got the card in 2 weeks (approximately).

The CSR didn't indicate whether it would remain a MasterCard or Visa. I was just happy enough it went through and wasn't about to ask. I'll definitely update the thread when the card comes.

To answer BearsCubsOtters question a few replies back, just confirmed today by logging in that the card will remain with the MasterCard network.

Congratulations on your success OP! @BearsCubsOtters I PC the cash rewards mastercard to visa sometime in 2020 and I want to say it took a solid month before I received the card. If not a little longer.

I wonder why they didn't change it over to Visa. I gather I'd have to have explicitly asked. I wasn't going to "poke the bear" anymore by asking for a payment network switch, lest they somehow say there would then be a problem getting a PC. Is there really a difference anymore between the two networks nowadays anyway?

I only PC'd to get the 2% back at Costco. That was my motivator.
