Went to pay my Citi card payment this month (after worrying about paying balance waaaay down and possible balance chasing these past few months to a noice note advising my credit limit had been increased....only $1K, but I'll take it!!!!! The apped with Pend Fed for another card amd got 10k on Platinum rewards. Can NEVER get a cli on Disco card I've paid off ($2300 SL) so I tried apping for a new Disco IT card for balance transfers and was iinstantly approved for $6500 sl. Does anyone know what the deals is with not granting CLIs, but will willingly give you brand new card? Also got a $1000 increase on Macy's store card (once Citi loosened the reins, I figure I'd try them too).

Congrats on all those approvals! You should try for a Macys cli every month it is a SP so no harm in trying. I have a bloomingdales credit card same as Macy's only mine says Bloomingdales and have gotten to $14,000 now from monthly increases of around $2500

As far as Discover, they want to be your daily driver, getting lots of swipes and large payments/PIF. Otherwise they throw the dreaded "You're not using enough of your existing line." denial out. Heavy spend with a solid profile usually does the trick.
