Pulled the trigger--BofA CLI!

Don't worry, I'm still gardening!

After verifying with BofA themselves yesterday that a CLI would definitely not be a HP, today I was logged in and just thought, oh why not?! So I filled in the info requested, put $10,000 as my desired CL--my existing line was only $4,500--and pulled the trigger. APPROVED!! For $10,000.

This was one of the cards I got early on in my last rebuilding phase. I had gotten one increase automatically along the way--it started with a $1,500 limit, they increased it to $4,500 without being asked, and then it just sat there and sat there....

Until today!

Thanks! My goal is to have 5-figure limits on [almost] all of my cards. (Chevron? Nah, I really don't expect a $10,000 limit for gas!)

Congrats on your CLI!! Do you ever use the card or did it legitimately just sit there between CLI's?

Thanks! Yes, it does get used, albeit rarely. Most recently I used it for a 0% BT offer and have been paying that off, with no new charges. Prior to that, I'd use it occasionally, but I have other cards whose cash-back rates are so much better that it doesn't make sense NOT to use them instead!

When was the card opened, when was the cli to 4.5k and when was your most recent cli for DPs.

Thanks! Without double-checking, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it was opened in late 2013; this was a few years after my brain tumor-related financial fiasco.

I got sick (and almost died) in mid-2016, and have no clue when anything happened after that. It's only been about six months since I've been well enough to resume using a laptop! All I know is that, at some point, its $1,500 limit was automatically raised to $4,500....and then it seemed like FOREVER that it just sat there. My scores are currently in the low 800s.

Congrats! I am assuming you just called customer service to ask if it would be a HP or not? Were they definitive about saying no for sure not a HP, or there might be a chance? Any CLI with only a SP is a big win!

Thanks! No, I wanted it in writing, so I used their chat feature. After she stated that it was a SP, I re-asked "so if I step through the online credit limit increase request, it will DEFINITELY not result in a hard pull?" When she said yes, that's correct, I screenshotted everything and the rest is history!

Generally speaking, I like to get things in writing. And that's proven very helpful in the past.

Sweet, grats on the move upwards I have never gotten an HP for a CLI since they changed their policy of HP for all moves up, I have done mine online.

So, question: I haven't had an increase on my card at all since my SL....and it's next on my CLI target list. You're saying that on the online CLI form, you enter the requested amount you want? Do they typically counter-offer if your request isn't to their liking? Or does it straight out deny?
