Target unasked-for CLI. Coincidence or not?

I got a Target card last October with $500. Have used it maybe 3 times for a few things, always PIF. Last week I ordered about $150 worth, and the next day got a CLI to 2k. Could those two things be related do you think?

Dont know if they related or not but what is related is my jealousy!!! LOL

I got the same starting CL 1.5 yrs ago and no CLI despite my best efforts.

There is a good chance that they are related. TD bank likes to see useage which you did so they gave you a CLI. They have done the same to me. I used the card for some medium price items and the next month a CLI. So there is a good chance this is what happened to you too.

What I failed to notice originally, was that Target made it a M/C. Not much in the way of rewards but nice I guess.

as i understand it you cant request a cli on the target red card, its all auto and its an enigma as to what triggers their cli's.

the 5 percent off target purchases is excellent.

Congrats on your CLI, technically all REDcard CLI are unasked for since you can't request CLI from TD Bank on the Target card. The two are likely related.
