Amex BCP Approved

Amex denied me back in June because stupid me put how much I made monthly not yearly lol. After that crushing denial and the rep not caring what I had to say, I told myself I would give it 2 months before applying again. I cleared all my cookies and history and I went in incognito mode. What felt like the longest spinning in my entire life (literally one eye was closed) , I was approved for my goal card! SL $1000, low but I don't care honestly because now it's time to sit in the garden for 2 years and let my cards grow.

Data Points Before They Pulled

1) They pulled Experian which has 13 yes 13 inquiries. Alot from a car I shopped for last year in early August.

2) I got 6 credit cards in 6 months, only 4 of those are reporting right now and this is my 7th card I received during those 6 months.

3) Experian credit score 727

Now I'm going to go ahead and lay low.

Yup that's why I'm not getting anymore cards for now. With age and good use, I want to see how much my cards will grow.

Yup but I'm stopping because watching this forum and what I've read on here, I don't want to raise any red flags 🤣.
I only went after all these cards because I started my credit journey late. Now I can let these cards grow together.

I like that approach. The usual story (which admittedly works very very well for most people) is to apply for a credit card, get it, wait six months to a year (this assumes responsible and appropriate behavior), apply for another credit card, get it, rinse and repeat.

I am a tad bit older, am rebuilding, and have one "baddie" on my credit reports. I tend to like to get three credit cards pretty close together so that (a) they all age together and (b) I have three good, on-time payments reporting each month and not "just" one. I did this back in May, 2020 (all of those accounts are closed now....for lots of reasons) and I just did this (well, spread out over four months....).

Congrats on that magnificent card.

I might have missed this....this is your first AMEX card? Or, your first in a good while? I see the cards in your signature. But we can not deduce if you have ever had any AMEX cards in the past.

It's my first Amex. These are the only credit cards I've ever had.
