Another Merrick Bank Auto CLI

I got an email this afternoon, that my limit was raised again at Merrick Bank. My account there is now up to $3900.00

This has really been a good card for me...yes, it's no frills, but I keep getting regular credit limit increases automatically.

Congrats on your auto CLI! You will get auto CLI on this card until you reach their max credit limit of $5,000. I have many prime cards now, but I have kept my Merrick card for age. They are a great rebuilder card.

Mine is at $1900, and has been for years. Granted I've used it maybe 5 times since getting it years ago. They were a rebuild card for me and are definitely on the chopping block given their annual fee and lack of rewards. They served their purpose during my rebuild, but now that that's over and they've gotten hundreds from me in annual fees, they need to go.

If you're in your rebuild, keep them. If not, there are much better cards out there. If your score isn't too high, I'd go for Discover and maybe try the Amex pre-qual, you might be surprised. Either way, good luck and keep plugging away!

I have had this card for awhile now...but I have never had an annual fee. I have a good interest rate and the card keeps getting increases, so I see no need to get rid of it. I have Amex and Discover...like I said, I got this card years ago, when I had no credit at all. Now I have plenty of credit, but I actually like my Merrick card.

I have never had an annual fee on my Merrick Bank card.

I have long since graduated to better cards, but I have affection for my Merrick Bank Card. That card and Capital One were the first cards to offer me 5k credit limits with my bankruptcy still showing on my reports. Now that my bankruptcy is 12 years old and long gone, I have no need for the card, but I keep it for age purposes, since it is free to keep it. (no annual fee)

Nice! This is a good example for people to see.

There is so much negative word out there about Merrick.

I have a charge off with them and was afraid to contact them (mostly, but not entirely, because of their "reputation") but, after getting essentially no where with the CRAs (specifically, Equifax and, to a lesser degree, Transunion) decided to take my questions directly to the source. So, I am very interested in that conversation (and, yes - I messed up....so the charge-off was 100% my fault and doing). Just not sure that some of the things that Merrick is doing is appropriate. We will find out "shortly".

Congrats on the CLI and the amazing experiences with Merrick.

I never had any issues with Merrick.

Never paid a dime in AFs, fees, or interest.

They did close my card without warning for lack of usage though.

Congrats on the auto CLI! These auto's are such great feelings!

I have a $200 secured with Merrick that never graduated. Never had a problem with them even though they showed no luv & the card had no rewards. I just got approved for a $5K Penfed Power Cash card and am uber excited, my first prime so it is bye-bye for Merrick! Its a great rebuild card but its greatest at the chopping block 🤣🤣🤣.

My Merrick card was never a secured card. It started out with a $1k limit and grew to 5K within 2 years. I got it 2 years post bk. I already had my capital one cards (2 of them) showing on my reports and had established a credit history.

I think Merrick gets a bad rep because they are definitely a subprime lender. They lend to people who cannot get prime cards for whatever reason. But within that category, they are one of the best options out there.
