Approved for the Active Cash on 9/7/2021 with a spending limit of $7,800. They pulled Equifax with a score of 779. 1/6, 3/12, and 8/24 inquires. I did have a Wells Fargo Propel with a spending limit of $6,300 at time of application that's about 2 years old. Haven't put any spend on it because all of my restaurant spend has been on my AMEX Gold for the last 11 months. I received a letter in the mail on 9/11/2021 from Wells Fargo. The letter stated that they are reducing my credit limit on the Propel for non-use in the amount of $4,800 and applying that amount to the active cash to create the total $7,800 credit limit. Has anyone else ran into this? Was actually thinking of dropping my Gold Card because of them cutting the benefits that I actually use and going back to the Propel for restaurants. Guess I will give them a call tomorrow to see if they can increase my limit back to $6,300.

Congratulations on your approval! Sorry to hear about them decreasing your Propel limit during the approval process!

Thank you for sharing this info. I have the Propel also. Like you I've been putting all my dining out on my Amex Gold or other cards when they've offered 5% on dining. Now I just have a monthly subscription on the Propel and I use it for gas. I will make sure I keep using the Propel to keep them from cutting my limit.

My Propel was at $30,000 but I Asked to reallocate $9,000 to my newly approved AC. Though glad of the AC approval, I was disappointed with the $1,000 SL.

A call to them would likely help. Even SP CLI's need to be done over the phone so discussing with them may get your previous CL back.

Called Wells Fargo today. They could only increase my credit limit on the Propel $400 unless I wanted them to do a hard pull. I didn't want to waste a hard pull on a card that I don't currently use. Now I just need to put a little spend on it so hopefully it gets back to a usable amount. Just an FYI for anyone thinking of applying for this card.
