Multiple credit approvals

I've been recovering from a bad credit score (made bad decisions and stopped paying my cards when younger) and for a while all I had was a secured platinum and a non-secured platinum. I've really been wanting to create a healthy credit profile with a lot of accounts so I decided to check pre-approvals for cards I was interested in, I got pre/approved for a capital one quicksilver, Capital One Walmart rewards and an Apple Card. Now it's time to setup bills/groceries/etc to use the cards and do auto pay to let them garden. I'm so happy that my credit has come so far!

So you go APPROVED or PRE-APPROVED for these cards?

Congrats, if you got the approvals. What are you current scores? What does your profile look like now?

I am approved for them! I just only applied for cards I had pre-approvals for. Thank you! My current FICO 8 score is 613 (based on Experian data). This score doesn't reflect the new line of credits! I expect it to go up as I was at 89% utilization. I paid off that balance in full (as I do every month) and now I have all this aditional line of credit.

So right now in order of approval, I have a Secured Capital One Platinum ($500 limit), Capital One Platinum ($1000 limit), Amazon Store Builder Card ($100, I burned Syncb in the past), Capital One QuickSilver ($3,000), Apple Card ($750), Capital One Walmart card ($1000).

I also have an auto loan through Capital One and student loans.

Something I found interesting is with Capital One, they're one of my cards that went to collections. I had a QuickSilver card charged off for $800ish (it doesn't show on any of my reports even though it's been less than 7 years). I never paid it off and they still give me credit fairly easily now. In fact, prior I had issues getting any more than the QuickSilver which was a $1,000 limit card at the time.

Congrats on your approvals, that's great work. Keep working to build up those scores. Do try to keep your utilization rate under 30% if possible.

In like six months to give these approvals a change to build up your score, I suggest joining a credit union like PenFed and getting a card from them, they usually like to give higher limits.

Congratulations on your approvals! Also, congratulations on learning from your past mistakes and rebuilding your credit profile to where you can get approvals like this.

Now it's time to garden, let those accounts age, and grow with SP CLIs. Synchrony in particular can be spooked by multiple new accounts (there's a recent thread on this), so hopefully you won't have any issues with your Amazon store card.

Eta: Hats off to you for the 2x Triple HP for your Cap1 approvals. I still have PTSD from my early foray with Cap1. Took a 3x Triple HP before I learned to bob and weave. 🤣
