Chase sapphire preferred approval with over 5/24

I just wanted to update that I was approved for a Chase Sapphire Preffered even though I was over 5/24.

I do have a checking account with Chase and I had been wanting a chase credit card for some time. I was over 5/24 so I did not apply and was trying to garden. However, a month ago I saw that I had offers for three credit cards on the chase mobile app. I had read that if the offer has a specfic APR, then it was likely a pre-approval and one could get you approved even if over 5/24. Well, I chose the saphire preferred and was approved for an $8K credit limit. It does have the $95 annual fee, but I could not pass up the 100,000 points offer for $4000 spend in the first four months.

The offers for the other credit cards did disappear after I was approved. My credit score was about 720 at the time and they pulled transunion.

In other news, I just received a $2000 auto CLI from capital one. Before I got the chase card, I was trying to get a CLI from them and was using the card heavily. However, when I would hit the love button the most they would approve me was for a $300 increase so I declined. Today I looked at mobile app and was surprised to see my credit limit had increased. I have not yet received any notifications on the increase. I wonder if I can still ask for a CLI?

Very nice! I'm still waiting for the day to get an INK offer on my account. If not need to wait to the end of 2022 to apply. =/

Well, that's another over 5/24. WOOHOO! I seem to keep seeing this more often though tied to offers versus cold app's

Very nice - I do think the account with them likely made you an exception to the 5/24 rule. I've read similar situations with US Bank and their 1/12 rule sometimes getting bypassed if you have another type of account with them.. Congrats on the new card! Enjoy those points!
