Amex Optima and NFCU nRewards Approval

I made the final payment to Amex on the 20th of September and received the "application" 2 weeks later. I sent it off the next day and received a hard pull on Experian the 12th of October. Card arrived in the mail this afternoon! My year long clock starts ticking now.

The Navy application was short and sweet. I signed up for membership over the phone with the very nice rep, in all it took about 45 minutes and all the info I had to provide was that my Grandfather served in the Marines in WWII, she said that I might be required to provide further documentation but I was approved without anything else needed, it was a soft pull for membership. Once my transfer went through to fund the account I applied for the nRewards card with a $1000 limit (I was going to make it higher however from what I could see from the forums this card tends to graduate at 2k regardless of the starting limit) and received an instant approval. Hard pull from TU.

Rebuild is rolling along nicely. I just saw that US Bank is offering the Altitude Go as a secured card so may make that my 3rd while I rebuild. Will post if I pull the trigger on this one.

Congrats, sounds like you're a in good place! If you don't have it easily accessible, you might want to track down a copy of your grandfather's DD214 or other paperwork, so you have it on hand if you do get audited in the future.

those are two good cards for rebuilders

NFCU may do a CLI in 90 days and graduate in 180 (that was my experience)

the Optima looks you out of another AMX for 12 months (thats what the paper application says but some posters here say differently)
