US Bank aka Socks Bank AR $14k CLI -> $74k CL

Backstory time!

On Sunday wife decided to see about getting an increase on her Altitude Reserve since between upcoming holiday shopping and furnishing a new home she wanted a bigger credit line. While we don't mind making multiple payments it would be great if we could limit that as well hence needing a bigger credit limit

She submitted her request and didn't get an immediate decision but they did pull TU which is interesting since they pulled EX for her approval back in August for $17k. Told her to give it a few days and we could call in if nothing changed. Then yesterday she finally caved in and contacted customer service to see about an update of any kind. Apparently it was a denial the following day with reason being they needed to see more payment history before considering a CLI (six months was the length of time needed according to the customer service rep)

Wife explained that we recently purchased a house and are planning to make a lot of purchases to furnish it, and didn't want to possibly make multiple payments to keep the credit limit open. The agent said their decision was final so we didn't push the issue. I offered to talk to the lending department anyways for her but she didn't want me to so we let it go

After a bit she asked if I had any luck apping for the Schwab Plat I tried earlier today and told her I hadn't tried again since the app wouldn't load up. I was trying to see about scratching my own app itch that's been bugging me. I now know apparently some parts of AMEX have been screwy the last few days which maybe played a part but I honestly don't know. She said if AMEX doesn't want our monies to ask for an increase on my own Precious card. Personally, I think she wanted something from Socks Bank and figure I could be her agent with that. I admire that kind of fire lol

So asked for my own CLI and it went pending. No HP so far so figured it needed some time to sort. Then checked earlier this morning and saw a $14k increase to $74k on their website. Still no HP to report but I'll keep an eye on that for a few more days to be sure

Happy even if TU alert comes in with HP. Next time I'll ask to speak to lending department about a target increase like @imaximous does I believe and see how high this card can go. For now this will do til I get urge for new card then Schwab or new Hyatt biz card is on the list, maybe the new BofA premium card next month as well

I might have a problem 😐

If anybody need info like scores and what not I'd be happy to provide them. For now I have a payment on the card to make

Whoa! Really nice! I've also been at $60k CL on AR for while now. It may be time to consider a CLI request again!

Funny thing is, almost every time I log in to my USB accounts, I get a popup to update income (supposedly for possible credit line increases )

I think they're actually trying to figure out how I can possibly spend the amount I put on the card on my stated income, haha. So far, I've gone almost $20k over the limit at times without getting a decline. I did have to explain a couple of years ago that I use it for business and they didn't have a problem with that. They were wondering about the multiple payments too. I wish I could get this card to $200k CL to avoid cycling, but that's most likely going to be a big fat NO.

They asked about the nature of purchases awhile back with me and told them it went from hybrid persona/biz spend to strictly biz which is why I was cycling through CL and making payments. Haven't heard a peep from them since that conversation. If they ask I'll be truthful and provide whatever they ask to keep the money train going. I just don't them closing the card without any reason so we'll see. I really wish they had a biz version of the AR that was NPSL I'd be ALL over that lol

But yeah go for the CLi yo! I have to ask when you call to ask for limits what do you tell them or are you prompted when you talk to them? I'm probably going to ask for increase sometime in March maybe and I want to see how the process works
