Pulled Trigger on NFCU

Hey Fico Fam !

So back on Sept 15th i joined NFCU in hopes to get there Credit Cards one day and well the time has come ! After getting my utilization in check 20% down to 5% on my Amex Cach Mag Card i pulled the trigger on the NF Cash Rewards with the $250 SUB for the up coming holiday spend that i will be doing. My Trans report using experian website was reporting a Fico of 769 with 2 inquires non cc related. Ive opened 4 cards in the past 24 months , 2 of those within the past 6. Im thinking that might be why my score below 780s.

But good news i was approved for 14k @ 15% ! Was hoping for there lowest apr but guess i can work on that as time comes. Anyways i dont carry a balance unless im taking advantage of a 0% promo.

Was able the get my internal score with them showing a 313 out of 450. Maybe a 350/375 would qualify for the best rate?

At time of applying 11/5/21 i only had a savings account with $5. I have now opened a checkings with direct deposit as seen on the reasons below on pic that hurt my internal score. Just wanted to share the good news . Thanks to everyone on the forum for the tips and advice.

My next card with them will be the Amex More Rewards. Hopefully by that time my internal score has improved. What you guys think ? Wait a year to let the new accounts age ? Maybe 2 ?

Can anyone explain Key Factor #2 ?

1. I know would be my $5 balance.

2. ? Maybe because of no auto loans , personal loans etc ?

3. I Just setup Checkings w/ DD

4. I am 4/24 which i assume is alot in there eyes. Now 5/24

5. 2 non CC inquires. 1 Auto Paid Off / 1 Mortgage that i didnt end up doing afterall.

With that being your 1st approval, I would apply for the MoreRewards in 6 months. JMO

The best APR rate is not based on Navy's internal score, but is based on other "risk" factor's.

Mark down your 1 year anniversary date and request an APR reduction. I have received 3 APR reductions.

Don't forget to request a $8K SP CLI via phone APP or Website @ 91/3 (91 days and 3 full statements) from approval date.)

Congrats! Navy Federal has been great to me. You are going to love it I am sure.

I hope you don't mind me asking a question on your thread. I was wondering if anyone knew if Navy Federal does a hard pull when you request an apr reduction?
