Barclays Aviator Red World Elite MC

Could they come up with a more pretentious name?

$11,300 SL. $60k sub. 0% APR for balance transfers for 15 months.

After recon. I had Barclays included in BK 12+ years ago. They automatically deny for that without pulling credit.

They pulled TU: 824. First personal CC in last 14 months.

I can say one thing for Barclays, they employ the best U/W masters of interrogation. Once you get thru being grilled well done, you've done very well being approved with them and they WARM UP.

She was actually quite nice. Asked one question about my business, then pulled credit, put me on hold, and came back with an approval. No questions on credit whatsoever. I applied for this card 18 months ago, got turned down for too many new accounts. So I knew if I waited and didn't open any new accounts in a while, I'd get approved.

Yes they have some nice one's in U/W. Your profile is mighty strong sporting FICO 800+ etc. and they come through simplified for such credentials. I had several of their cards before and the RING CARD which was a useful approval when i PC'd a different card over to it.

In fact IIRC Barclays was my very first highest line PRIME approval after Recon well over some years ago. Many who got closed for whatever reasons they never bothered my accounts with them ever. It was smooth sailing actually.

Truth be told I wanted Chase United Quest. Both United and American have a hub where I live. I'm on the road for 150+ days a week. I fly United way more than American, and I'm 1k Premier with them. However, Chase never forgets, and I'm quite sure I will never get another card with them. I had Chase included in bankruptcy as well. I haven't applied since I'm over 5/24 anyways, but I've yet to see a Chase approve someone who had their account included in BK. C'est la vie.

They certainly do have the best interrogtors. The CIA would do well to use their training programs!

When trying to appeal my latest CLI (a paltry $3,500) I was grilled for nearly an hour, about every facet of my financial history for the last 25 years. No one had ever been so comprehensive in examining me.

Unfortunately, I believe you are correct about Chase never forgetting. Some of my personal cards were included in my CH 7 BK filing more than 35 years ago and they still won't consider making any credit products available to me. AMEX eventually did let me back into the fold, as did Citi, to some extent.

Congrats on this approval and happy flying. If you do actually start patronizing American Airlines, it might make sense to consider the upgrade to the AA Silver version, for an extra $100 a year -- only if the additional benefits make sense.

I'm more surprised on them even entertaining the thought of approving you Including the in a Bankruptcy or any charge off can get a lifetime on the naughty list and Barclays has been noted to do a lifetime ban. Trust me, I IIB and when I called and the BK was off I was told that "once you include us, our policy is to never grant you credit in the future, no matter how long it has been". So, the recon effort you did was miraculous in itself. Congratulations

Funny thing is they were one of the first prime credit card issuers to give me a credit card after BK. Their Barclays card with a limit that never has gone up. Stuck at $2,400. And I also have a Jet Blue Plus. I reconned that one as well.

I used to travel AA quite a bit, but for the last two years United has just had a much better schedule out of O'hare. And they've been more consistent. Although United just has only ten more gates or so than American.

I just got approved for my seventh Amex, even though they were included in BK. I have only one card with Citi, and they won't approve me for another one due to "past history", BK of course, so they seem to have banned me too last five years or so. But I wouldn't give two **bleep**s about Chase if I didn't fly with United all the time. It just pissess me off.
