X1 approval for $29,000 & CLI > $40,000

Thanks to an invite code from a friend I was able to apply for the X1 card a few days ago. The system glitched and would not let me progress past the "Summary / Confirmation" page. I emailed X1 support and they got it fixed pretty quick and emailed me back to finish the application. I logged back in and it was quick and easy from that point forward. I connected them with my bank account and within 3 - 4 minutes it said I was approved for $29,000 :-)

My highest limit (not counting the platinum and gold AMEX cards) I had prior to this was my PenFed card at $25,000 I would not say their approvals are 5X what other cards offer, but lets see how it goes when I run some spend though the card. Hoping they will do some auto CLIs for me.

Congratulations on the X1 approval. $29k is still great to have although it's not the 5x but I'd take it, haha! Enjoy it. Hoping to get one down the road if I can get my hands on a invite code.

Just out of curiosity (and for the benefit of those still considering applying for this card), did they do a HP on Experian or just a SP (as earlier)?

From other posters in other threads, it appears that sometime in mid to late December, HPs seemed to become the norm. Apparently, when I pulled the trigger on Dec. 9. I just "squeaked by," without one.

It would be interesting to see if there is any different treatment for those with an invitation from an existing card member vs someone whose position on the waiting list cleared.

BTW: I also received a $29K SL. Seemed a rather odd number, at the time....

As of this morning there is no HP showing. I will update if they end up pulling one.
