AMEX GOLD APPROVAL

I was just approved for AMEX GOLD CARD (rose gold) but I am a little bummed because I think I cheated myself out of 15000 MR points. I'm sure yesterday I saw 75000 MR with the AMEX gold. I dont know if they are just not offering that on this day or if I should have went through the pre-qual first like I did yesterday. UGH! This is gonna bug the heck out of me, lol.

But hey on the brightside I was approved even with my thin credit report, 1 victoria secret card, and some closed accounts including old mortgages but new mortgage hasnt reported yet. Credit scores are in the high 700's and overall utilization is low.

i did the exact same thing and ended up with 60k points. I don't know why I hesitated.

Congrats on the approval. Yes, there are elevated offers at times when doing a prequalification, browsing one's own Amex account for offers, or even launching in an incognito browser tab at times. At least with the 4x categories and frequent Amex Offers, it's very easy to make up for any additional points. Enjoy the card!

mmer to miss out on the points. I know the feeling well. I explained the points game to a good friend and told him to use my referral link on Amex but he forgot and got the card without clicking my link . . . but in the end the card is an excellent addition to your wallet and you will earn plenty of other points moving forward.
