Union Bank Approval

Tried for this bank a few times over the years and was always denied. I opened a checking and that didn't work.

I called to cancel the account and the Account retention was so annoying (Think Comcast) that i kept it open just to end my pain.

I left $2.72 in there and deleted the app thus feeling satisfied that I had the last laugh.

Recently recieved a letter that my account would go into inactive status if I didn't at least log-in.

I figured i had played enough and I would log in and cancel the account.

They had the nerve to flash up a credit card offer!

That's dirty pool right there!

Apped and approved for $15,000. $200 bonus for $1,000 spend in 90 days.

I added another $100 to checking as a reward

Just a quick FYI, and perhaps it may not matter in your case, but MUFG/Union Bank CCs are going to transition to US Bank during the first half of this year. Details yet TBD.

The story kind of reminds me of the dealings i had with comenity over the last year. i was approved for 2 cards when i started rebuilding, ikea/comenity and big lots comenity.

after 6 mos i asked for a cli on the big lots, i used it often and pif, they said no soup for you and mailed me a laundry list of reasons. then i applied for the comenity mastercard and the same thing happened so i paid to zero the big lots and ikea and to the sock drawer they went.

low and behold 6 months later comenity offers me the comenity mc.

😳 This is great news! If US Bank won't let me in I will just keep getting cards with companies that sell to US Bank! Someone at USB is going to be reading a customer list one day and freeze in their tracks when they run across my name. I predict an Ibuprofen and whiskey shortage later that day.
