Truist Approval

Hello Friends!

So I saw a few out there getting cards with Truist without a hard pull so thought I would give it a try and was immediately approved for the Truist Enjoy Travel Credit Card with a SL of $7,500. Hooray!

My question is has anyone experienced a hard pull after instant approval? I usually get a notification if a hard pull is done but I haven't seen anything come across. We are considering applying for a new mortgage either this year or next so I'm trying to stay vigilant about no hard pulls for a while until we make a definite decision on a new home or not (honestly I'm waiting for this housing situation to die down a little before jumping into that). I took a risk with this because everyone said they were getting soft pull approvals. So far things look promising that it was only a soft pull.

Any thoughts from my more experienced friends out there?

Its a SP approval when you accept there offer, you wont get a HP

How did you apply @dbjohnson039?

If you submitted your application via their pre-qualification portal, then those approvals typically tend to be SP. If you applied directly (no pre-qualification), then those are HP through EQ.

@Metalcards - was your HP scenario through pre-qualified offers or direct, cold application?

Mine were all SP through the pre-qualification portal 🤷‍♂️

I cold apped and instantly was told I had been approved and would get my card in 7 days. No info as to sl or apr. I had to wait to get card to find out.

@Metalcards - yes HP is expected for Truist cold applications.

Hi there @FinStar ,

I used the pre-approval link found in this forum and was pre-approved for five different cards. I was waiting for some sort of verbiage about running a credit report but since I didn't see one, I took the risk based on others on this board. Glad to hear the pre-approval page is linked to. Soft pull. Hooray! 😂😂
