Yikes. Obviously Goldman Sachs doesn't talk to GM on this card. Or they do, and something they didn't like.

Apped today and got a message that an agent would be in touch. Figured it would be a deny, but what the heck. 740 across the board, no baddies.They called about an hour later while I was on a conference call and they left a message to call them back. I did, and they informed me that my app had been fraud flagged. No specifics as to why.

We spent literally an hour on the phone while they dissected all my personal info and everything lined up. Ultimately they had a supervisor overrule the flag after of all things sending me a SMS code. This of course after asking for phone # so I don't know what good that did. While nothing was fraud I could have social engineered the heck out of that check.

At the end of the hour, approved. For the nice even amount of $8100. I mean they can't round off to the nearest $500? lol

From stories here, I understand Capital One commonly approved their GM card with CL in $500 increments. Meaning many approvals to good FICO scores with only $500 credit lines

Congrats! We also just received the GM card. It's great if you participate in the GM rewards program. We also have the Apple Card also by Goldman Sachs. Good to be in with them I think!

Can you use the GM card to purchase a vehicle at their insane 7x point tier on GM purchases? If not then what else at GM can you buy? Seems like a niche card, but I don't know for what purpose. Regardless congrats on the approval!

You can use any points you have that equates to cash in your account up to $2000, and you get points on a vehicle purchase at the rate of 1 point per $5 of sale price.

Beyond that you can use it for parts and accessories, Service, warranties, OnStar. Hope that helps.
