Gemini Crypto Card approved!

So I got an email notifying that I can now check if I was pre-qualified for the Gemini crypto credit card (I've been on the waitlist for a few months now).

The link led me to the Gemini website for the usual identity checks, and a soft pull for the pre-qualification. I was offered a 25K line of credit which I accepted. It was an Experian hard pull. Not that it would matter but I was given a choice between the silver, gold, and black cards. I chose the gold, which looked more like the rose gold of my Amex. The card should arrive in 4 to 5 days, at least that was the promise.

You can register yourself to use their app, but any trading or withdrawals of crypto would require an identity verification, all done via the camera on your smart phone. It was all quite painless.

I'm not a big crypto invester, but having rewards (3% at the moment) in crypto would be an easy way to get into the market and to use them for everyday purchases via Gemini Pay. They do require that you choose which crypto to get the rewards in (I selected Bitcoin). Also you cannot use your own cold storage wallet yet with Gemini, though they advertise their own hot and cold wallet options linked to your account (essentially their own offline cold storage).
