CapitalOne CLI (app request) Wow!

I'm in shock.... with all the denials and canned responses I got the last year that my capital one walmart card was on an automated system for credit increases (only gave me $250 at 6mo), I gave it one more shot 5 days before the 1 year mark of opening the account.

Data points updated today below.

To add to them, I was spending 50% to 80% max credit line and pif every month for 1 year, then used the app to request an increase 5 days before the automated increase system kicked in.

They offered a $3000 boost to put me at $3750 and I accepted.

I'm happy... pulling Capital one out of my potential SD list for now.

After my 6 mo. Automated increase from $500 to $750 and 3 manual requests to raise it being denied since then, I read the forums here where a majority complain of the c1w card being bucketed and automated only, I was about to toss the card in the sock drawer if this request was denied too.

I was actually ready for another denial.

So, ya, very surprised that they instantly approved a $3k boost this time around.

Counting it as a big win with capital one. 😀

It might be because their my go to campground card right now. Their 2% is handy traveling and paying for spots at rv parks and campgrounds. Mid-xxx merchant swipes monthly. I don't think they want me to move to a 3% campground card like the BofA custom cash or creditone wander.

No worries for now. I'll reevaluate in November.

Congrats on your increase! Capital One has been fairly generous with CLIs lately it seems. My son's quicksliver had been at $750 for years and he woke up to a CLI of $3000 as well last week.

Forgot to add... Even though the CLI was an App request and not automated, it was an SP.

Always nice when no HPs are added for requested CLIs.
