Care Credit approval

I had a Care Credit account years ago with a $4000 limit and used it in 2008 for my LASIK procedure. Paid it off and closed the account.

14 years later although I don't have any procedures coming up I decided it would be nice to get another card just to have for emergencies... and it would also be nice to pad the UTI.

I did the prequal... asked the cost of my procedure.. I said $6k. It told me I had an offer for a $6k SL. So I backed out... did it again and put $8k and it said the same thing.

So I submitted the app and was approved for an $8k SL... and got an immediately notification they pulled TU which is my lowest score currently at 652.

Still... $8k is great! I'll take it! Maybe I should have went for $10k but whatever! LOL!

It's all good! I know I could have gotten more but it's really fine! $8k will definitely pad the UTI. I mean heck... the dental work last year I had and have already paid for was only $5k!

Congratulations! I did something similar with Care Credit about two years ago. But I never used the line at all. So it closed within the first year. Just a heads up for ya.

Thanks for the tip! I guess we'll just see what happens. A friend has a $7500 card and told me all she does is run a few hundred per month thru it for her animal care and her preventative health stuff and hasn't had an issue.

As said I've had one before but it's been a few years. This one is more for emergency readiness but I do have dog care as well as dental/vision care to keep up with... and I'm about to turn 48 so there's other midlife health checks coming... although I'm pretty sure usage won't be anywhere near the 8k limit.

Definitely gonna use it though! I'm totally happy with the limit.... preapproved for $6k then $8k... yeah I could have asked for more but whatever... $8k is plenty!

Congrats on your approval...... it is a really good & useful card... and the credit limit can grow rapidly. I use it at my dentist, my pharmacy and my vet. I believe they can be / are generouswhen requesting CLI because they also make income by charging the provider for acceptance... or you can say they pay the provider less or a "discounted" amount based on the term that you choose for no interest.

Make certain you pay the entire amount.... before the interest free period ends, or I believe they add interest all the way back to the date that the transaction was charged.... which can be costly.

They have recently provided me with an upgrade to the Care Credit Mastercard, which makes it even better.
