Feeling the approval love from AmEx (& others)

As I mentioned in previous post, I've been working for a couple years to rebuild my credit and the work has paid off! Starting in May, I was approved for the Amazon Prime Chase card (5k SL, any way over 5/24), then the Delta Gold AmEx (1k sl), followed by Citi Custom Cash (very small 500 sl), CapOne Savor (500sl) and today the AmEx Platinum charge card (Exp 729)... I really longed for this card because of the travel benefits.

I did the new Amex process where you can apply and find out if you are approved, with HI inly if you accept. Interesting I haven't gotten HI alert yet, even after accepting and getting card number. I like their new process of finding out approval with out HI. Also love they send card next day air (granted I'm paying for the luxury with the annual fee, but worth it for my travel habits). Also got the 125k bonus points.

Just really excited, and to the garden now for a year. Just wanted to share, it's a slow process, but great to start seeing the results.

Amex is known to soft pull approve existing customers the majority of the time. Some still get a HP though so always expect a HP and be happy with a SP. Looks like your Platinum was a SP approval if you haven't received a notification yet! Yay. Congrats on that as well!

If you were already an Amex card holder it should have only been a soft pull inquiry. Did they do a hard inquiry on you for the app?

@Seth415 Yes, Amex is in a league of their own. Nobody does it better than American Express.

@Seth415 Are you saying you were approved for the Chase Amazon credit card, and you were already over 5/24 when you applied?

As much as i'd love to have the Platinum just for show, it makes more sense to me to get the Venture X and have better multipliers, lower annual fee, and still have the priority pass access PLUS free food !

You were already a card member with them before the Platinum app, so you probably won't get a HP for it.

Yup, I'm super happy. But Discover and Capital One will always have a special place for me as they helped me start the process. Especially Discover.
