I was gardening till 2023 and got bored, so figured I would hit the citi prequalifying page expecting to see no matches again, as usual, especially with my updated stats in my signature.

But, low and behold, not only did citi prequalify me for the custom cash with 5%cb in select categories, I got the spend $750 in x3 months and get $200 cash back with 0% apr for 12 months promo.

Applied and got the 7 to 10 day review message.

They hard pulled equifax

Called immediately to speed up the processes.

The rep asked for x3 years tax/w2's, proof of address and drivers license to be sent in.

After sending in I waited x2 days and called back to confirm they got my documents.

The rep confirmed and then approved me for a sl of $1500.

Other than the 5% categories and $200 promo. My main draw to this card is the ability to direct deposit all cash back into a retirement savings account each month. It's only a potential $25 per month with the $500 5% cap, but it adds up to $300 per year (+$200 promo cb) into retirement savings, not including other cards that allow direct deposits (stacking cb towards retirement), instead of statement credits.

Back to the garden for me until 2023.

This was my first spend promo offer since I started building again from a clean slate in 2020. Feels like progress.

Ya, both the Citi CC & DC have bank deposit options. I wouldn't doubt if their other core cards allow it too.

Bread Amex 2% and BofA CC 3% also have direct deposit options.

There's a few more, some are more restricted though, where it has to be an internal relationship account. I avoid those, since I've already chosen my primary retirement institution to funnel to.
