Paypal Cashback Approval

My 4th card this year, and my first card with 10K+ CL(not counting AMEX gold/plat). I was actually going to garden for at least a year, but my last approval was the Rakuten cashback back in May, so that is a BIG bummer. Reason I picked paypal is my DoubleCash has pretty low limit. I applied for a CLI ~5 months ago, but only bumped me from $1200 to $2200. Pretty excited to have this card since more than half of my online purchases go through Paypal.

I don't have a target card right now since most if not all of my spending categories have been covered. But I'm always open to recommendations

Can you share your data points? Was it a hard pull? What was your score? How many new accounts did you have in the last 24 months, how many inquiries did you have in last 12/24 months?

Is this a straight app and hard pull or does it do a soft pull or prequal first and then allow you to accept it with the hard pull?

Can I ask an unrelated question? What prompted you to close your Capital One card? I was thinking about doing the same thing. I don't have any pressing reasons but I also don't feel as valued by them as I do with other banks.

It's a hard pull, but TransUnion only I think. I'm not sure what my current score is since I have 6 hard pulls coming off my reports some time this months and my Experian report this month hasn't been updated, but probably around 720 FICO. My accounts are in the signature. My total inquiries in 24 months including the 6 I mentioned is 12.

There were many unpleasant reasons.

1. CL and CLI. I was given $300 starting limit and only offered $100 CLI each time even when I was running through $2000+ for several consecutive months.

2. No PC option. I wanted to PC to QS (no annual fee), called them every three month, and checked the PC link every month, but they always refuse me to do the PC.

3. Bank account verification. I have not seen anyone who experience this on the forum, but it's very strange and frustrating. So I'm have always used the same checking account under my name to pay, but they restricted my account 3 times over the 1.5 years I owned account, and ask me to call them and then Chase to verify my bank account.

4. Reward. I have the citi doublecash with $2200 CL, so there is no reason I should leave this $400 CL 1.5% $39 AF account open.
