HUGE CLI NFCU

MY JOURNEY WITH NFCU HAD I SECURED 9 MONTHS BEFORE I GOT TIRED AN applied for another card //// I applied for the cash rewards card and got $2700,I waited 4 months not realizing 91 days had passed.... I didnt do a cli I applied for a new card ,The more rewards card and was approved for 25k this morning. Im so shocked i was afraid to even try the cli on the CASH rewards i had for 4months... should i try?

AND NOT MENTION MY SECURED CARD STILL DIDNT GRADUATE BEEN 13 PLUS MONTHS

Congrats on the approval!

Just close the secured card, it's not old enough to matter right now and it'll be on your credit reports for many years to come anyway so it won't hurt to close it. There is no guarantee that a secured card that can graduate actually will and it's obvious that NFCU is okay extending credit to you now.

Congrats on your Navy Federal More Rewards 25K approval! 👍

They often approve a new card with a huge SL before approving a CLI on an existing card. I say go for the CLI on the Cash Rewards card. Just like you did on the More Rewards, sometimes you just have to request things in order to accumulate higher credit lines. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I agree with @Lou-natic about the secured card, just close it.

I think you meant to say huge More Rewards card 25K approval. Because the huge CLI will happen once you request it on the Cash Rewards card! 👈 👍

Clicking the CLI link is the easiest way. Unless you prefer calling in to speak with them. That way is better if you also have additional questions.

As for the amount to request, I've always learned to go for the highest amount possible. They have an internal limit set for you. If the CLI is possible, they will always counter with a lower amount if they can't approve the full amount you asked for.

and hope i didnt do it wrong

she asked if it was an emergency

i said yes and she said i can get up to 50k

i said make total 25k

i feel as if i was greedy

You shouldn't feel greedy. You might as well try for as much as you can now, because you really might need it someday. I think 25K was good, let us know how it turns out.

I also thought that was unusual. As for the call back in 2 hours, maybe the "emergency" expedited a manual review.
