American Express Platinum Approval

A few months ago I got approved for the Delta AmEx Gold (with a low 1k limit) but have treated it very well putting about $10k on there and paying it off. I have been checking the pre-qualified offers often but no luck until this week. Imagine my surprise when I saw I was pre-approved for nearly every card I clicked on they have including the Platinum and accepted it (fully plan to make use of all the benefits of the card and the 100k bonus offer). After approval, I used the check spending power tool, and shows $50,000+ purchase would be approved.

Only have about ~650 credit score on all three bureaus so it was a huge surprise to get a elite card with no set limit. American Express must like something about my profile. Later this year most/all my negative items will be dropping off my credit so will easily shoot past 700... maybe American Express internal scoring is only looking at more recent history.

Congrats on your American Express Platinum approval . . . although it states no preset spending limit, there's actually a pay over time amount that's set and it may reflect an approval amount today but in 48-hours that approval amount could change. I am still adjusting to the Amex Business Platinum and think I would prefer a set limit!!!

Since I was pre-approved by logging into my other (recently opened) AmEx card there was no hard pull for this card. I do believe American Express originally pulled Experian when I opened the first card.
