PayPal Mastercard Approval w BK7 now Closed

Officially back in with SYNCB. They've been holding grudges since my 2020 BK7 discharge where they got burned so badly. And it's weird cos I tried the prequal for Lowe's and Amazon two days ago and the denial email stated "unsatisfactory history on account with us." Anyways, I've been seeing the ad for this card whenever I login to my PayPal and finally decided to give it a shot fully expecting a denial. Boom I get approved! Thanks for the second chance SYNCB. TU FICO score listed on TIL disclosure is 696. 1% utilization, 7 inquiries and megatons of new accounts.

Nice.....I got back in with SYNCHRONY with my Amazon card, about 2.5 yrs after my Ch. 7 in 2019....I burned them for about $30k back then.

I'm looking to get back into some rewards cards soon and higher limits. INQ's are low for me...0 EQ/0 EX/4 TU with 2 of those falling off in a few months. I currently just have my 'rebuilder' cards...OLLO, Credit One, Mission Lane, Mercury...

I burned sync in 2019 for 5k in my bk7, i wonder if they will give me one?

on these prequals they say yes, walgreens 1500 sl, lowes 1500 sl, amazon store card 1000 sl.

If you're getting a prequal result with Lowes and Amazon then I think you're good to go and will most likely be approved. I haven't gotten a prequal for any of those yet. Each time I try, I'm immediately denied for previous history. Also, I once had a prequal with Venmo & result came back at $2900. One day I tried to run the prequal again and got "we can't verify your identity." Ever since then the Venmo application link doesn't show up on my mobile app anymore. If this helps gauge your approval chances, I musta burned SYNCB for $40k at the very bare minimum and this number could be a lot higher.

Thanks for the heads up. i do a lot of shopping on amazon and ebay so the pp and amazon cc's interest me. in the case of amazon i am limited to the store card because i burned chase for 20k - 25k, im probably banned for life with them. i would app for both those cards but im trying to cool my heels right now after my latest spree and my inqs were getting up there , like 20 plus.

This month 5 or 6 inqs fell off my reports and in dec its cli time for a few of my cards, most notably one of my navy cards so right now every time i get the urge to app i slap my own hand.

Hey guys just a quick update to this thread. It turns out they closed the card yesterday. I noticed it when I logged into the PayPal app cos the card was no longer listed. Called customer service and was informed it was due to "High Risk" pressed to find out what that meant but was advised to expect a letter in the mail. Crazy part is the card has already reported to all 3 bureaus. I honestly thought it was odd that I got approved in the first place yet whenever I try to prequal for the other store card I'm always declined for "unsatisfactory history on account with us." I must say I did attempt to get an increase with Credit Solutions so not sure if I brought unnecessary attention to myself by doing that or if it's just one of those things I slipped through the cracks and the error was discovered later. Definitely sucks but at least now I know the grudges still on.

Sorry the approval didn't stand. Sometimes we take risks, and the outcome doesn't work in our favor; however, this will serve as an education DP--don't request a CLI prior to receipt and activation of a (Synchrony) card!
