Approved for Amex Platinum.

After years of working on my credit. I was finally approved for my dream card Amex Platinum card this morning. Credit score 780 ~ 15% Utilization. They did a HP on Experian and TU. I had to call to verify my identity because I just moved so my new address wasn't on my CR yet. What is their rule on biz cards? Does the 1/5 and 2/90 apply for biz cards? Would I be able to apply for biz cards same day or I have to wait?

Congrats on getting your dream card! 🥂 You could apply for the business card the same day...but you're new to AMEX so the system might process it as a non-AMEX cardholder application and do another HP. It's better to wait for your "express shipped" Platinum card to arrive first and then enroll your card and user account profile into the AMEX system. After that, log into AMEX and apply for the business card...then it should most likely be a SP. Or just wait to apply for it after building your relationship with AMEX.

It depends on your relationship with AmEx. I just do not think it is helpful to apply for another AmEx card on the same day.

Congrats on the Amex Platinum approval! You can definately app for a second card, business or personal. There is a chance it might be a second HP, but there are plenty of data points of people getting 2 in 1 day with Amex with 1 HP.

Congrats. I personally would just wait a month than apply for another card rather than risking another HP.

Congrats on your approval. As far as business cards with AMEX go and considering they did two hard pulls for your Platinum approval, I would personally wait until your first anniversary with AMEX to apply for a business card. They will want some experience with you first.
