us bank shopper cash rewards

i submitted a application before went to review just got an email that I was approved for $500 ,

I am very disappointed to waste the HP when all my cards are over 25K each 8 cards and available credit 250k 13%ֶ utilization

what am I looking with U.S. Bank? Will they increase my credit line or do I have to request one and will they giving one after a few months

I believe once approved, it will show on reports.

Base on their wording once you activate it, that give you the $500 credit limit! So... what if you don't!

I would not keep that card even if does report for one month! That is ridiculous. Not sure how their recon for CL would work but I don't blame you for not being happy with this!

I applied for this since I use Amazon allot ,

how does the payment method works? If I use the card and pay right away doesn't reflect or takes them forever to show up available again ?

Um, congrats on your new card.

My experience - had the same SL with my Cash+. Got into a staring match with them over CLI, I would lock reports, ask for CLI, they would try HP, it would fail of course. They said "no CLI for you with no HP". Did this a few times over two years, finally let them do HP and got $10K limit as a result.

They are tough cookies.

Reading around this Forum, some posters in this situation reconned with US Bank on the initial CL and a manual review was done (if they did not already do one).

Suspect they would do another hard inquiry (not positive). If I recall, success usually made the effort worth it.

As has been stated up post, US Bank is good once they know the person but if no experience, they are often tough.

In virtually all credit card applications, once you apply an inquiry hard or soft is placed in a person's credit file. Whether you activated the card, close the card or just did nothing, the mark is in the credit bureaus.

Regardless of the SL, congrats @Jccflat! I would contact their UW via the backdoor # listed in applications as soon as you have a chance. I had a somewhat similar experience when I was recently approved for the Connect (my approval thread here) just a couple weeks ago. In my case they gave me $5k initially, when I have numerous other 25k cards, including a GO with 25 and a Cash+ with 20. I had a very positive interaction with a credit review specialist who was able to bump me up for the cost of an HP. You might also have the same experience, so may as well have it reviewed.

That really blows. They should have a minimum SL for an annual fee card. As it sits, the annual fee is 20% of the credit line like some predatory starter card. I would tell them that. Good luck!

There is cap for AF/fees. They cannot exceed 25% of the limit and $95 isn't exceeding it when limit is $500.

Last year I reconned a $500 starting limit with U.S. Bank to $4,000. It was my first card with them and I was on a spree so I don't blame them for being cautious lol. But I asked for a manual review and explained that I had a lot of expenses coming up for Christmas and had family in town and paying for dinner for like 6+ people for a week would be challenging with the limit I was given. I was feeling daring and decided the hard pull was worth it, but your mileage may vary. (Especially since some lenders seem skittish lately) There is also an option to request a CLI on the app and that was a soft pull for me, but I don't remember that option being available when my account was newer so there may be some sort of limit (e.g. can't request it before 6 months or a year).
