Vantage West CU Connect Rewards 25K Approval!

Approved for Vantage West CU's Connect Rewards Visa Signature!! $25,000 at apr of 15.24% (lowest for this card). Pulled Experian (in CA) F8 805 (might have been F9 but can't confirm). Prior to applying, 1/6, 1/12, 5/24 new accounts, and 2 EX inq's/12.

This one's been in the making for a while, starting with establishing membership 6 months ago (for more info on that, see my membership post here). Through an employment-related entry, I opened checking and savings, received a new checking bonus in the process, and have just been relationship-building since then with regular monthly deposits.

Super happy to add this to the lineup which will fit nicely with the other rotator/choose-your-own-adventure cards. I've needed a dedicated 5% Costco card for some time, while the combo of Safe CU and Affinity FCU have given me 6 months of the year. I may also use this one for some additional 5% dining or travel as needed. I've just about reached my cash back saturation point, with most of my regular spend categories covered at 5% and at least 3% for uncategorized and infrequent purchases. Looks like sub chasing from here on out, maybe doing a travel setup within the next year or so.

Structure of this card is 5% selectable category, 3% gas, 2% groceries, 1% everything else. The 5% categories to choose from are:

Travel
Restaurants
Utilities [water, cell, electric, etc.]
In-Store Wholesale Purchases [Costco, Sam’s Club, etc.]
Department Stores
Hardware & Home Improvement Stores
Charitable Organizations
Pharmacies & Drug Stores
Amazon.com

@Anonymous Thanks! It's been a steady building process for sure, added the majority of the setup within the past couple years, so it's great to have some of the larger categories covered.

@paulesport Thanks! APR range on this one is a bit higher than some of the other CU's offering quarter categories. Among CU's in general, the lowest APR I've seen and that is obtainable has to be San Francisco Credit Union's Platinum card which is now as low as 4.7% (was 3.79% before the fed hikes). Of the cards I have, AOD at 7.49% is the lowest. (I had NFCU's platinum at 5.99%, but product changed to the Flagship and it's higher now)
