Amex says Happy New Year

After getting back in 6 months ago with Amex after years on blacklist I never thought I'd be where I am with them today. When I did get my approval 6 months ago for BCP, they welcomed me with 32,600 opening cl. Tried at 3 months for a cli, no dice. Not a long enough history. Just went over the 6 month mark mid December. Tried tonight but didn't get greedy. Asked for an even 40k. Instant approval. It may take time to get back in with someone you burned and have to prove yourself responsible enough. Amex will give you that chance.

I fully expected that. Many data points about going over 35k and allowing access to bank statements. Nope. Nothing. Available increase was there in 15 minutes. Not too shabby. Now I gotta wait a few months and try the elusive sp USB cli.

Yes, Amex can be worth the hassle of mending fences, if only for the CLIs/potential to help one's credit profile.

There are folks on here who have managed to get a 5k sp cli through USB. There is some technicalitie in waiting till the 7th month. If I have it rite, it has to be after the 6th month as they report at the end of month. If that's a correct way to describe it. Many have waited till month number 7 like clockwork. Of course they can always hp you. I'm only 2 days out from 5 months open. Waiting here till month 7 and see if it's still possible. Good luck to you.
