NFCU Credit Line Increases (Cash Rewards/More Rewards/Flagship)

About 9 months ago, while still in the midst of the pandemic, I had gotten CLI on all three of my NFCU. All SP, done after hours. Had gotten the confirmation email that the CLI were approved. But 24 hours later, received a message from NFCU that I had reached their maximum exposure ($80k) and the CLI were removed and credit limits were set back to what they were before.

decided to ask for a CLI again. Just asked for $5k CLI on each card. Auto approved again. Got the confirmation email this morning and my CLI have remained.

Pics will do the rest of the work for me.

I thinking they did. During the whole pandemic, they were limiting exposure to 80k total. and it wasnt just me. there were tons of people in that same boat. so i'm going to assume they are easing off with the end of the pandemic.

It will be interesting to see if your limits will stay in tact. I'm sure if so, there is going to be a myfico effect and there will be a stampede of people attempting to go beyond the 80k mark. Myself inclued.

@mchang124 - don't be surprised if NFCU adjusts the CLs again. Several other members who reached above the $80K maximum were contacted by NFCU and had any overlines adjusted. @CreditCuriosity was one of them from a while ago. There were 2 recent DPs reported on this as well.

Correct you will gte a haircut on those limits unless they raised the ceiling, but unlikely.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but expect a call I'm really hoping they've changed their limit threshold from about 4 months ago. I was one of the "lucky" ones who surpassed the 80k threshold. Instead of waiting for some weird adverse action in possibly getting my account frozen, I proactively chatted with someone at Navy FCU to make sure my limits were correct. A representative from the lending team called me within minutes of the chat and retracted the increases.

Congrats, but don't expect it to stay. They'll claw it back again sooner or later (unless they raised the limit, but that's unlikely, as there would undoubtedly have been multiple posts on it on here).
