Amex Blue Cash Everyday CLI Luv Button

Hey, everyone!

What a great start to the day. I decided to push the CLI luv button today on my BCE card after getting it around this time last year. I remembered checking after about 62 days last year when I got it but it countered with just about $2,000 for the limit increase request instead of the full 3X limit. Today, got approved for the full 3X limit and sitting at $12,000. Suffice to say I don't really use the card, I put more spend on my Gold card as I am constantly eating out and shopping for groceries. So with the way the economy is moving, we will see if Amex allows me to keep the limit or take it away. I shall use this card for gas my next fill up. DPs? To be honest, not really sure, I know I am 6/24 right now, about 700 Exp Fico 8 and well above 740+ on the other bureaus - fico 8 as well. Haven't applied for anything in almost a year and don't really plan to. Cheers!

Congrats! I think I will try the luv button from Amex next month and see what I can get. I have been doing a bit of spend on the card but will prob hold back a bit with Chase offering 5x on groceries this quarter.

Congrats! Just to clarify, your first CLI request after card opening (62 days) was for $2,000 and then your 2nd request (most recently) was 3xCL? I want to make sure I understand correctly. I've been under the impression the only time 3x can be requested/approved was for the initial/first request. Can 3xCLI occur anytime a limit increase is available?

Great question! I should have clarified..I opened the card around July '22, actually, with an SL of $2,000. After 61 days, on the 62nd day to be exact, in September, I requested a 3X CLI through the website but was denied. I waited and requested another 3X CLI in November after another 61 days (again on the 62nd day) and was countered with a $2,000 increase, making my new limit $4,000. Then, another 62 days after that, just a few days ago, I requested another 3X CLI and was granted the increase making the new limit $12,000. So to answer your question, no, I believe you can request 3X CLIs as much as needed or for growth purposes, but I believe (and don't quote me on this) requesting a 3X CLI above a $36,000 limit, they then require some kind of a financial review to see if there really is a need for the limit and to verify assets, etc. Someone more familiar with that process can chime in, but yes, you can request as many 3X CLI as you wish! Sweet! And thank you! Yes, the CLIs are always welcome. I requested it more for padding and hoping it stays, considering I only use my PenFed as my DD.

I don't have an Amex account, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the 3x is the maximum increase, and it's not uncommon to get a 3x increase. I believe any CLI could be up to 3x.
