Approval Spree

So I went a little wild this month after cleaning up my reports from years of bad credit and decisions. Score is currently at a 738. I'm in a much better place now financially and have nearly no outstanding balances beyond some student loans and an auto loan. Don't shame me, but my new accounts are LMAO/24 and inquiries are **bleep**/24. I wanted all accounts and inquiries to age at the same time. Locking my reports now and gardening for a year or two.

Received a number of declines due to number of outstanding inquiries, but as for approvals:

Alaska USA Visa Signature $7.5K @ 12% HP EX

Amex BCP - $10K @ 20% SP

Wow you went hard! Haha. I plan to do this or something similar in about a year or so. Apply for all the cards I would want or could possibly use at once so that they age together.

Nothing nefarious really. Through a combination of family and changing jobs/moving over the years. I've been a member of these CUs for a while now (and a dozen or so other ones.)

@northway Congrats! I know its been some time now. If you remember, did you apply for these are in a few days, over a few weeks, etc. I'm curious to know your data points regarding timing and order of applications. What was your score when you started?

This is why I keep my geo-fenced bank accounts & CU accounts open even after I move, because you never know if you will want to utilize them in the future.

Keep a few bucks in each account, set up monthly or quaterly transfers to keep them from going dormant & you can use the relationship when the time is right.

I kept my Kinecta, Delta, Regions, PNC, BECU & Affinty accounts for this exact reason.
