Finally in with Chase

Applied for the Amazon chase visa on Saturday and got the "we will notify you in 2 weeks". Called the credit analyst recon number just now and an agent asked me a few questions and said I was approved, but she didn't have the credit limit for me yet. But *edit - I just received an email that says my credit limit is $500...

I've applied for the chase freedom in the past few months twice and was declined both times

Congrats. I would call back. I got declined for my two Chase cards and successfully reconned and they were able to tell me credit limits during the call.

It's a start. Congrats. I started out with a Freedom in March 2013 on recon. Kept if for 6 months and closed it. Applied for a Slate one month after closing Freedom and was approved for $2,500. Five months later that Chase Slate was turned into a CSP for $5,000 and I got the Chase Southwest Airlines Visa Signature at $5,000. This is just your initial start back with Chase. You have nowhere to go but up.

Congrats! It's ok to have a small starting limit. Use it well and you will get auto-CLIs. Also, it will ensure that you will get much larger CLs on your new Chase apps in the future.

I'm really interested in getting a Chase Freedom card down the line myself. I always figured they would be a really hard card to get and I wanna let some of my inquiries and new accounts age and fall off anyway. I also remember someone from Chase telling me I would need to have to have years of credit history to even be considered for the Amazon Visa one. Congratulations!
