Citi Double Cash APPROVED! Can I Product Change immediately?

You know someones too far into the game when an approval means shouting loudly like your favorite football team just won the world cup.

So yeah, that just happened to me. 2 weeks ago I posted about my Custom Cash approval (LINK) if you want to check that datapoint (Includes all relevant info).

The Credit Karma guarantee for double cash showed up, and it gave me that push to go for it. Obligatory disclaimer, I know CK guarantee doesn't mean you are 100% approved. I am aware of their shenanigans and you should be too.

Applied using my existing account for Custom Cash. I had frozen my experian report after the Custom Cash app and when I applied, they asked me to unlock it immediately after I pressed submit. I submitted it after I unlocked my CR to a loading screen and that gut wrenching dread of denial. But Citi really wanted me to be their customer, INSTANT APPROVAL for 3.8k SL same as my custom cash!

Another HP on Experian, not dropping a single point this time however.

EX FICO8 was 744 . 1/6, 4/12, 5/24 inquries (Experian)

New Accounts 0/6 (CCC not reporting yet), 3/12, 5/24

3/12 new accounts, 4/12 inquiries didn't trip citi, I can't tell you how incredibly happy I am for this. I said it last time for my custom cash and I'm saying it again. This time I didn't get a temporary card number to add to my digital wallets though. This card is meant to be PC'd to a 2nd custom cash. My one question is, can I PC the card immediately or do I have to wait 1 year? I don't mind if I have to wait, I just got my 1st custom cash anyways. However, it is high time I get back to the garden for real. US Bank Cash+ next!

You usually have to wait a minimum of 12 months. I've heard it could be as long as 18 months before they will let you PC bc the Citi DC comes with a 18 month 0% intro APR promo. I had to wait 12 months to PC my AA Plat Select. I'm not saying I am willing to die on this hill but don't be surprised if you do have to wait the full 18 months. I'd be happily shocked if you got a PC pre 12 months.

I just confirmed with a rep and they said its 12 months. It could be different for different cards and maybe the internal policy changes sometimes. Regardless, good to know!

Congrats on the approval!!! If I'm not mistaken, you have to be out of any promos that your card may have in order to product change.
