Kohl's Card--- Approved!

Approved for a $300 SL!

I know... store card, but I shop there often, so the upgraded rewards that come with the credit card are useful for me. My rebuilding focus has been paying off balances/collections/charge offs. Had a charge off with Kohl's for just under $1k that I was able to pay in full last month, so that probably helped. They also pulled EX, which is my highest score right now, so I'm sure that didn't hurt either. Just happy to be back in!

ETA: I tried the pre-approval on the Kohl's site before applying and did not receive one. Weighed my options, decided I wanted to go for it based on my improved scores and the paid charge off reporting, and did a cold app. Very pleased that it worked out!

CONGRATS!!!!

Its a great card and it can grow. I started out in oct 2020 with a 300 sl and now my cl on the card is 3000.

I requested a cli approxamately every 6 months, I regularly used the card, always had a running balance of a few hundred and usually paid 50 - 75 dollars per month, I think they like some spend, ymmv

Also it is rumored that sometime this year 2023 the kohls card may convert into a cobranded visa/mc.

Thank you! I've had this card before (twice, actually, but we're not here to talk about that... ), and my experience was similar. It will be interesting to see if they keep me on a tighter leash due to my past mistakes, but my scores are higher now than they have been in years, and I'm older/wiser/more responsible this time around. Excited to *hopefully* see the card grow!

And I do really hope the rumors are true about the co-branded card. I'll definitely be watching out for that.

Store cards count. Congrats! The Kohl's Charge is one of those weird cards with good benefits for regular shoppers who invest in the whole Kohl's game, which is incomprehensible to everyone else.

When i started rebuilding store cards made up most of my profile, they worked very well at elevating me.

I'm generally against store cards, but some are pretty good, REDcard, Kohls (so many promos), Lowes, etc.

I believe they do SP CLIs, if memory serves.
