IT Approval Process

I applied for the student IT card last evening. I got the "processing" message. Then I got an option to create an account, when I clicked on that it asked me to upload some student verification documents.

I plan on doing this. But when I spoke with a rep online today, they told me to call in and speak with new accounts as they have further verification questions.

I asked her if this had to do with the documentation she stated it could be, but then came back to say something to the effect of it looks like they need more information.

So I ask everyone with experience with Discover, is this a good or bad thing? Is it "conditionally" approved, so to speak, pending the receipt of that verification? I will call when I get home. The nice rep online also stated that it is sort of good because it wasn't an auto decline.

Nervous lol and hoping some of you great people here can provide some insight, hopefully.

This is a good thing. Submit what they need to verify you as a student. The rep is right.. it's not a decline yet so that's fantastic.

It might be good, as long as you got to create an online account and you did not get an auto decline you should be good. Keep us updated Good luck!

My daughter had the same thing happen, they just wanted to verity some info and then she was approved.

It's a good thing. I applied yesterday, and they asked to send in document verifying my enrollment in school. I sent it in right away. Checked the status today, and I was APPROVED! I think you'll be fine, but good luck!

This happened to me too.

I applied and got the pending message and to submit two proofs of attending my school.

I uploaded and was approved next morning.

I'm preety sure it's a good sign!

Sorry for the late update, but I got home and had some errands to run . Well I just got off the phone with them about 15 minutes ago and am still in a bit of shock. They just wanted to verify my name and birthday and the kind rep on the phone said I was approved for $500! All I have to say is OMG!

I just started rebuilding at the beginning of this year. Same story as most everyone. I have a couple of store cards recent (cart trick), NFCU secured with DH (2 years), goRewards $4000 (was majorly shocked when this was approved 1/2014), and Cap 1 Secured (2 years) Cap 1 QS1 (12/2013). Baddies but working on those as we speak. Just recently I joined the 600 club when EQ Scorewatch jumped from 597 to 606. So I now have EX (via MyFico 3/14) 644, EQ(ScoreWatch) 606, TU (SP loan app declined, stated they use FICO score) 631.

I am majory excited, shocked, happy, and any other good word that escapes me right now.

Just wanted to give an update and ask a question.

Got the card today, $500 limit and all that good stuff. Can finally get rid of the Cap 1 Secured (AF coming up in May).

Just wondering when is an appropriate time to request a CLI - 3 months? 6 Months?

Also, would it be a problem if I actually have no income, as of right now it's my DH income that is the household income due to school and a new baby

Per Discover paperwork 631 TU, EQ ScoreWatch 606, EX per myfico 644
