Socks Plus Approval

Yeah, I was going to wait until July-August when I'd be 0/6, 1/12 before applying for this card. But . . .

I pulled the trigger on the US Bank Cash+ and got aproved with a small limit of $2k. My second lowest credit card limit currently, but I got approved. I even called to see if the limit could be reconsidered. Underwriter told me I'd have to call back Monday for them to look at the account and then it would be another HP. I said "thank you, but I'll just wait."

Thanks. And yes, exactly. I don't really need the padding for my aggregate and I'm not planning any big purchases with this card in the near future, so the small-ish limit isn't hurting me. I got in with a card I'd wanted for a while, having no previous relationship with US Bank.

Just wondering, if it's under $5k, is it just a "Visa"? Or is it still a "Visa Signature"? And if it's not a Signature, will it graduate to Siggy status if and when the CL reaches $5k+?

Congrats on your US bank creditcard approval. You can ask for increases every 7 months they are sp most of time. enjoy it have fun.

Not exactly what you're asking but, I PC'd to a Cash+ that was under $5k. It was a Visa Signature.

I've been told by Wells Fargo that it's not a Signature unless the CL is at or above $5K. According to The Points Guy's article on Visa Signature benefits, banks are not required to give you those benefits if your CL is below $5K. But I have heard that some banks have been known to grant them.

Wells Fargo did tell me that I could move CL from a Signature card as long as it didn't go below 5K (and it was a card that started below $5K). I don't know about the policies of U.S. Bank or other banks.

Yes, normally a card must be $5k or more to be a Visa Signature. If they won't approve you for a $5k limit, you get denied, or in some cases you are offered a different card. But not all banks play by those rules. I don't think I've ever heard of a Cash+ that is not a Siggy, so I was wondering.
