Got the Banc of California Max Cash Preferred Card!

I applied for the Elan Max Cash Preferred two days ago.

I chose the Banc of California MCP card because of the nice card design and also because it is a Mastercard. And I opted for MC because I have several Visa cards (and a Discover) but just one MC - Citi Custom Cash

Here are my numbers at the time of application:

New credit cards in the last 2 years: 1/6, 1/12 and 4/24 (one of these was the US Cash+ card from late 2021)
Scores and hard inquiries (from creditkarma)
TU 834 0/12, 1/24
EQ 836 0/12, 0/24
From Experian free account:
EX 814 2/12, 3/24

Oldest card account : 27 yrs
Average age of credit card accounts : 9 yrs 2 mths

Income : $85K

I got an email today that the card is on its way now! The SL is $10K. I was hoping that it would be $4K to $5K because of what I had read about Banc of California being a little tight-fisted. Looks like either they are not, or the SL is decided by Elan and not by the bank.

EDIT: Btw, they pulled TU for the credit report. Same as what US Bank did for the Cash Plus. (I live in California).

Grats, that is the first card I'm getting when I'm done gardening, but through Amplify CU.
A $10k+ SL would be nice, but even if it is just $5k it will be perfect for my plan to use it to pay my utilities and cable for the 5% CB.

Thanks! I'll probably be giving it a long break, not necessarily because I'm at 5/24 now (incl. 1 AU card) but because my rewards slots are all taken care of at present:

Citi CC (AU) : 5% on restaurants
US Bank Cash+ : 5% on utils, plus TV/internet/streaming
BofA UCR : 2.625% (because of Platinum Honors status) on everything
CSP : travel card to use the $800 SUB (multiplied 1.25x to $1000 by using Chase portal to book ticket)
B of Cali MCP : 5% on utils plus one more category TBD

Plus I had one product change during this time : Citi TYP --> Citi CC : 5% on groceries

I'd say the higher consumer inflation drove me to get the MCP. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered. I am no longer able to keep quarterly expenses for utils + tv/internet/streaming to below $2000 anymore.

So, it looks like I can go gardening now! I might end up doing a CSP --> CFF product change this year, and in 2-3 years, I could apply for Cap One Venture card for my next long distance trip.

Congrats! Based on your profile compared to mine, I'm not at all surprised by the SL, and Elan is definitely the one who makes the underwriting decisions for the MCP.

May I ask if you already had a Banc of Cal account or were you able to apply for the credit card online?
