BCU Cash Rewards + PLOC

Following a nudge from CardHunter, I took the plunge with BCU and applied for membership, a Rainy Day Savings and Regular Savings account, a Cash Rewards VISA card. All of which were approved with the Cash Rewards VS at $25k and 16.4% APR following the 0% for 12 mos (TU - 794, 8 INQs). Extremely easy approval process overall once I unlocked my TU. And for the record, the credit report is good for 30 days.

@BigBS is 25k what you asked for or ask for more and countered? Do over phone with your adviser or online? Thanks.. I thought of going for more off the bat possibly as account is opened now just deciding whether to do online or over phone when sounds like adviser will likely call tomorrow.. Best friend has several high end auto loans through them a Ferrari and a Lambo and I believe one CC around 100k with them need to check if it is one or two cards now with them.

So, since the credit pull is good for 30 days decided to go for the PLOC. Upfront I must admit that I hate when CUs/Banks ask me how much I want because I never know what to say. Feels like a dicey question to me. During my conversation with the loan specialist, he told me that the underwriters want to know where to start and he has seen PLOCs approved for over $200k. They have 4 options at that point: 1) deny completely, 2) approve for a lesser amount, 3) approve for the requested amount, or 4) approve for a higher amount. Too much for me. Gave $30k as my requested amount and low and behold it came back approved. I have an appointment with my adviser tomorrow to go over the loan details. A truly great experience with BCU so far. Still have 29 days to go with that credit pull.

@CreditCuriosity, my app was over the phone with my adviser and $25k is what I asked for. I probably should have asked for more and since the credit pull is good for 30 days I may ask about their CLI process.
