BCU approval train

Well I decided to try to BCU train that has been rolling lately . Both dh and I were approved . They pulled TU mine was 801 don't know dh's TU FICO though .

only thing we had to do is send copy of drivers license and social . Both appproved although his is MUCH higher which I can't figure out 😕 unless it is because I have higher over all total credit lines? I know some CU consider that .

@Jnbmom I'd reach back out to your loan advisor and see if they can get in touch with the underwriters to see if they're willing to approve a higher limit that's more in line with your other open credit cards with other lenders and that you'd like to move your primary spending to BCU.

Congrats.. Pulled the trigger asked for 25k on phone rep. as he wrote me today and said memberhsip was cleared up as validated. He did warn me before pulling the might request DL, SS, and POI. I said that is fine. Just got a call they want DL, SSN and most recent paystub.. Will get that to them tonight or tomorrow I suppose. I am first to get hit with POI it appears

I have a question if any one can answer it do they use Fico for lending decisions? The score in your account is Vantage AKA FAKO.

Nope I asked as 791 came back and believe he said vantage 4... Strange places using that other than Sync esp such a big CU

BTW mine was instant approval based on that verification/uw came back with which was DL, SS card and Last Paycheck which I just sent them

Pure Speculation—FOTM myFICO forums will do that to a CU quickly. In the last couple of days, my dedicated representative hinted about a surge of people joining through (LMY) and CC applications. If they have been burned before with some fraud, all of a sudden, all these applications come in around the same time...looks suspicious, and I'm sure the Loan Officers are being "safe than sorry."

AOD couldn't handle the myFICO wave; we shall see if BCU can. Might get a little lucky that Reddit is down, so the word "might" not travel as fast.

IIRC—Old timers can fact-check me, but myFICO FOTM, this forum, could have contributed <wink> to NFCU closing their loophole for non-military members. A long time ago, in a very different world, you could signup for an organization and get an NFCU membership. It was brief and short; with GREAT power comes GREAT responsibility. These forms help tremendously but can quickly break a smaller CU when geo-restrictions are opened. I'm sure they don't expect a WAVE of members all at one time, all with moderate to excellent credit, all requesting 20k+ CC and PLOCs

All the above is just my 2 cents.

RBFCU uses EX Vantage, so I'm not too surprised, honestly. IIRC, they receive historical information (UTIL%) from certain Vantage scores, which might be more helpful to them. It could also just be a cheaper solution, idk.

I speculate alot more people are going to be if not already asked for POI as I am into the 800's on FICO's and 790 on their V4 I guess although thought was in 800's as well, but apparently not. Ya they have been burnt before and guy is extremely nice I am working with he made it clear that UW isn't about to go through blatant fraud again. As mentioned very nice, but keeping some stuff close to his chest as this new program to them exposes them to a lot more bad risks, etc. I specuate some already approved will be hit with POI requests and certainly the new people that are applying today/tomorrow etc will certainly be hit with them if they are eligible through this program my person said other methods they don't care he eluded to, but this program they have a hawks eye on right now in a nutshell.

I agree with this and would add it will definitely happen to those that ask for multiple credit products. I was approved for the line of credit yesterday, but turns out it was conditional. The "Review" team asked for POI which I just submitted and absolutely supports the income that I stated. We'll see what the ultimate decision is.

Agreed! Even though my account is set up running with a small balance transfer, I fully expect a request for my POI anyday now, which isn't a problem. I was really kind of suprised they didn"t ask for it when they requested my DL. & SS card.

I agree I think the barrage of applicants going through that organization (me and dh) being included will certainly bring some attention and possibly more scrutiny as early as today we see 🤔

My little old line of 8K might be ok, his of 25K who knows they did only ask for DL and SS but who knows . I don't plan on applying for anything else with them and will lay low .

As most know I am not a fan of POI, I can prove of course but don't like to do that, it's just my pet peeve other than for loans 😂
