PayPal Mastercard $30k Approval, after BofA gave me $4.7k

Ok my app spree is done. After being bummed that BofA gave me a 4.7k SL (for a 4K balance transfer lol)... PayPal Mastercard just gave me $30k which was a surprise considering I've heard they could start low. I did an unsuccessful recon with BofA to change the SL. Still have no idea why they initially denied me and then said oops, we just needed more info, then only gave me $4.7 for a balance transfer. So that card is a wasted app and leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth with BofA (I had not had anything showing on reports as opened in over 2 years and only 1 inquiry on 1 report and a high score).

One of the things they mentioned when I tried to recon the starting limit was "lack of desposits with us". I don't really use their checking account and only opened it to build a relationship and later app for my other card. I might open up a CD with them, then try to ask for a CLI in 90 days.

This stuff can be so unpredictable. I thought it would be the opposite a low SL for PayPal and a high one with BofA since I have a card with them with a decent limit already. Was going to eventually app for a business card with them next year but now rethinking that altogether.

I dont really need a 30k limit for that card since I plan to not leave a balance. Should I ask them to take it down a little ? Do they do that? (I have other cards I want to app for in 2024 or 2025 so I don't want to look over extended in credit as I already have close to 90k, this would make it over 100k).

Do you think I should open up a CD with BofA because of their reason about not using their financial services? Don't really want to use them as my main bank or change over my checking ect

Not sure what to do with that card now. So want to at least make sure it can grow.

Just a simple checking out should work. I've had one with them for years with not much money in it and reached their max CL.

First Congratulations on getting a verry nice starting credit limit from Synchrony bank for your paypal mastercard. I would not change credit limit to lower limit it can't hurt to have very high limit when you apply in the future that is to help in getting approved for higher credit limits. I have the Paypal master card with 20K limit, also Synchrony has on demand saving account which now is paying 4.30 % and what I do is transfer cash back from the to paypal then to the saving account it adds up fast with 2% and 3 %.

Don't bend over for BOA and don't close the account with BOA. If you don't mind what is your income that you put down for the Paypal master card.
