Verizon VISA Approval Finally

I've been a long-time Verizon customer so I've been thinking their VISA card would bee a good addition to my lineup. I started checking the prequal since this time last year but no luck until tonight. Got preapproved and then approved. Just a $1000 SL but that's good enough to get 2% on my Verizon bill and 4% on gas and groceries. Plus there's a $100 sub for making any purchase in the next 90 days.

TransUnion FICO 8 674. 3/12 and 8/24 inquiries. That's it for apps this year.

Don't forget about the $10 auto pay discount when you pay your phone bill with the card. It's now the only way to use auto pay on Verizon with a credit card! Unfortunately, it doesn't offer damage protection...the main drawback if your phone is expensive.

Yes! I'm getting the discount now but I have to use a debit card. Looking forward to switching it over to the credit card.

Also, ALL "smaller/cheaper" prepaid plans operate as MVNOs of the larger carriers. A T-Mobile MVNO offers the same exact coverage map as T-Mobile itself, an AT&T MVNO offers the same exact coverage map as AT&T itself, and a Verizon MVNO offers the same exact coverage map as Verizon itself. You'll have no difference in coverage at all except for partner roaming depending on the MVNO. Speeds can absolutely vary, but can also sometimes be better than the carrier's own prepaid plans depending on their negotiated prioritization level.

Do you also have the unlimted plan that gives you Disney Plus, with Hulu & ESPN+ for free?

I've tried a few times to get this card so I can get the $10 discount using a CC instead of a DDA.

Synch lists my credit score the lowest out of all my scores, at 616, due to their own internal scoring.

@Catbird_Seat Not sure what the minimum score is for this card. Mine are around 675. Don't know if having a track record with another Synchrony helps or not. I have an Amazon store card that just hit a year old. I've been trying for the Verizon card all that time.

For whatever reason, my internal score is really skewed with Synch, even though I have a $3k Venmo (opened 2021) & a $700 PayPal (opened 2022) with them.

It was only this month that their internal score for me went from 606 to 616, I don't know what my score with them was when I opened the Venmo. (They use their own scoring method.)

I know my current score because I applied & was declined for an Amazon card, but was approved for a Belk card.

However, they were included with my BK7 discharged 8/20, so perhaps they are still carrying somewhat of a grudge against me.

It's worth noting that in many areas, Verizon has the only reception of the three, or the only viable reception, so shopping around isn't even a thing. The coverage maps each carrier flaunt are complete BS when examined at the local level in person, especially if you live in a place where signal bounces off steeper terrain in certain directions and skips over wide swaths of claimed coverage areas.

We can only assume that the OP has done their due dilligence and concluded Verizon is still best for them or they have no options, period.
