Amex BCE 3x CLI (after review)

August 2022 I found this forum. I only had one credit card at the time - a WF Active Cash (lated PC'd to an Autograph) with a $2,500 credit limit.

Sep 2022 - Approved for Blue Cash Everday card - $2k starting limit

Dec 2022 - Instant 3x CLI. New limit is $6k

Mar 2023 - Instant approval for Blue Biz Cash card. $10k starting limit

(Apr 2023 - Started a new job in April. Income rose from low to middling.)

May 2023 - 3x CLI request for BCE. Prompt said that my request could not be submitted and that I would receive a letter in 7-10 business days. Denied CLI; letter stated I was at my max exposure Amex was willing to lend me.

Aug 2023 - Tried 3x CLI again 90 days after denial hoping for a counter offer of at least $4k CLI, bringing my CL to $10k. Again, I got the "request can't be submitted/ 7-10 day letter" prompt and thought I was denied again. Just checked my email and imagine my shock that Amex approved my 3x CLI request!

In 11 months, I have increased my total CL from $2.5k to nearly $33k. All but $2k of my credit limit increases have been the result of soft pulls from both Amex and Wells Fargo. I'm eligible next month for another CLI from WF and am hoping to get that card over the $5k hump.

Congrats! I just tried for the second time since getting my BCE 15 months ago. First time was denial. This time was the dreaded "7-10 day letter" message. You've given me a glimmer of hope, (but just a glimmer).

Very nice! I've been putting some heavy spend on my BCE after they 3x CLI me a couple of months ago hoping I can get another 3X CLI. here soon. Congrats on your Amex and good luck on your Wells Fargo CLI!
