Chase Amazon Prime CLI

I just got an $1100 bump on my Prime card.

I applied for this card on May 1, when I had NO business applying for anything from Chase. To my surprise, they gave me an obscenely high SL of $21.3k, matching my highest limit card at the time (FNBO Evergreen). I really don't do that much shopping at Amazon and I later moved 4.9k of that to my Sapphire Preferred, bringing it up from 12.6k to 17.5k and lowering my Amazon Prime to 16.4k.

Last week I clicked on the button in the website and it showed the Freedom Flex and the Amazon Prime as available for increases. I tried the CFF, wanting to bump up the 11k limit a little. I got the 7-10 day message and later got a notice that it had been declined.

Yesterday, (I think, possibly the day before) I was feeling brave and clicked on the Amazon Prime card that was still showing as eligible. Wasn't expecting anything. I'm just a compulsive requester. Again I got the 7-10 day message. But just now I noticed on my Chase accounts page, it shows the Prime has $17.5k available, up from $16.4k.

I haven't gotten a message on the website or in my email. It just showed up with a slightly higher limit.

When the dust settles, I'll probably move about 1.5k off that and onto the CFF I wanted the increase for in the first place

This brings my total with Chase cards up to $46k. That's almost 64% of my annual income (for those who believe Chase won't go above 30% to 50% of income).

The reallocation I did taking the $21.3k Prime card down to 16.4k hasn't even shown up in the reports yet, so when it does, it'll still show a CLD from 21.3k to 17.5k, lol.

From one compulsive requester to another, congratulations on the increase, not to mention the clever strategy in getting the bump on your CFF! Good DPs too, particularly the bit about Chase's total exposure relative to income.

Take the increase wherever you can get it. You can move it where you want later.

Congrats on the increase! Your exposure relative to income is probably why your increases are small and have to be reviewed. That plus if you're over 5/24 they may scrutinize things more than usual, or decline entirely.

The original Amazon Prime approval pushed my exposure well over what I thought I could get and made me afraid to ask for anything for a while. I was worried someone would realize they made a mistake and decrease my limits, lol. And yeah, I'm 6/24, which used to be a bar to requested increases, but that seems to not be as big of a deal any more, but it could possibly be the reason I got declined for a CLI on the CFF, but approved for one with the Prime card. I think the Amazon Prime was the first crack in Chase's 5/24 wall.

I just rolled the dice. I'm at $14k and got the 7-10 day message. My credits frozen so wondering if that's part of it... not sure if I want to call in or just see what happens.
