Double Approvals, and my first five-figure CL!

Hey myFICO! 🥭

It's now been over 6 months of having my Delta Platinum account open and also six months from the last CLI on my Apple Card account (now almost 1.5 years old). If you remember, these events were close enough that I had posted about them together (approvals thread here), and I'm happy to report both cards have received healthy soft pull credit limit increases!

I've spent good time reading over both recent Amex CLI approval threads and the "Definitive Amex 3X CLI" mega-thread over the past few weeks, in preparation for my increase request, and I wanted to be sure American Express had time to look over payment history and usage of my card before I went ahead and requested an increase, despite the request link being available since around the three month mark.

American Express instantly approved my request to increase the SL of my Delta Platinum from $2,000 to $6,000!

This was a great increase, with the CL increasing $4,000, a successful 3x CLI request! This increase brings all of my cards (except the Fidelity Visa...) to a CL of $5,000 or greater, and this is plenty, both to cover personal and any household/vacation spend that isn't on any of the other cards in our household.

But that's not all!

Earlier this morning, I also requested a CLI on my Apple Card, having hit 180 days since the last auto increase, which had brought the CL to $8,500. The request was instantly approved, and I achieved my first five-figure credit limit, with an increase of $2,500 bringing my CL to $11,000! I must thank @CreditAggie's many datapoints which have been a great guide reg. their wonderful increases from a $250 SL to their now $12,000 CL on the Apple Card!

All three bureaus are reflecting a FICO 8 around 755 (+/- 5 points), with Experian scoring the highest at 759. With these increases, my total credit limit hit $34,500 -- Utilization at 0%, AOoA at 1 yr, 5 mo., and AAoA at 9mo, with a Clean/Thick/Young/New-Revolver scorecard.

I still plan on gardening until my Bonvoy Bevy/AoYA hits the 2 year mark, bringing my 5/24 status back down to 0/24 with no hard pulls on either bureau before considering the Venture X to replace my Fidelity Visa. Seems like Elan has removed the FTF on Fidelity but the limit still gnaws at me for a catch-all card. A credit union card at that time wouldn't be a bad idea either I think.

Might also downgrade Bevy to the $95 Bonvoy AmEx at the one year mark and rethink what to do with Sapphire (upgrade/downgrade) once it hits one year, considering what benefits Chase renews for 2024, so stay tuned!

Congratulations!

I remember wishing for my first 5-digit credit limit. It wasn't that long ago. Once I got that first one, others followed quickly. My income isn't all that high, so it's just a matter of demonstrating your ability to handle credit in those amounts and they start throwing them at you.
