Chase Freedom Unlimited Recon

So I recently applied for the Chase Freedom Unlimited, and I initially got declined. I went ahead and called Recon, first agent told me I cannot do anything due to the nature of the denial (too few accounts I believe was the reason). Anyways I called again and the second agent was much better and immediately transferred me to the a Recon agent. Here the agent asked for me if I am responsible for paying on an AU, which was my dad's card, and I said partially yes. And then she asked my source of income, since it is relatively high for my age ($250,000) which she then confirmed. Then she finally said she had to transfer me to fraud for verification, where the agent told me I would receive an email where I would submit name and address verification. I did that and I called recently to check the status and the automatic status lady gives me the 2 week notice, should I try to get connected to an agent again or just wait it out? It's only been about 3 days since I submitted verification info. Furthermore what is my approval odds?

You actually have a Self Loan and 1 card hasnt reported as of yet. Many lenders ignore AU accounts. Credit age might be 5 yrs. But that would be you at 13 yrs old. So really you have just a loan. Need to go a different route to build a file. Get some age on your Disco and try other creditors to start building your profile. Jumping on the Chase train right out of the gate. May not work in your favor. We all had to start at the bottom and work our way up. Just going to take some time.

Wait. You may be approved, but don't expect a high credit limit. Also, given the young profile, I would let your accounts age at least six months before attempting to apply for any new credit.

Also wouldnt this be a perfect use of the Freedom Rise? especially at that age with a thin profile?

Thank you for your informative response, I was unpatient so I went ahead and called them. They verified receiving my docs and they put me on hold, after they looked over and verified my docs I got approved. I did ask what was the reason for the initial denial, they said that it was because of low number of accounts but that could be overlooked but my AU was at a completely different address (As my dad lives in Florida and I'm in Conecticut) and my last name was misspelled on the AU. Regardless I was approved for 15k SL and requested expedited delivery as I have some upcoming expenses for college, MacBook + iPad. I'm probably going to apply for Freedom Flex later this week and Saphire Reserved next month as I have some trips upcoming!

Nicely done, congratulations on your approval.

Be aware that Chase has a policy of only giving out two approvals within a 30 day period. Considering this approval, you never know but I'd still be cautious about going for that third card too quickly with them.

Congratulations on the approval. If I were you I'd hold off on applying for more cards with Chase at this time. Give it time to breathe. You can build up UR points with your Unlimited card.

Congratulations on your approval! I don't recall seeing an approval for CL that high from a reconsideration with Chase before! Glad to see it though.

Enjoy that and definitely work on building a relationship with Chase!

Congrats on your approval. I echo what others are saying it is not the best idea to go for more chase cards at this time as you are young and your credit profile is very young and not matured at all. 15k SL is wonderful for a recon approval. Mind if I ask what you do at 18 while in college that you make around 250k a year?
