UICCU Visa Signature Cash back card

Got a new card from the University of Illinois Community Credit Union. I needed a visa for Costco/gas but I think this'll be my daily driver for most things, especially for the first year. It also put the final nail in my Quicksilver's coffin.

5% on gas

2% restaurants and groceries

1.5% everything else

Up to $150 cashback match for the first year

No foreign transaction fees

No cash advance fees

My scores are in the mid 700s with 3% utilization and they gave me a $5k limit with 15.5% apr. I do live in the area so I'm not sure about their geofencing rules.

Congrats! It keeps coming up in Reels as if FB knew I used to live in central IL, lol. I already have categories covered, but very good for a CU CC.

Appreciate you bringing this little gem to light, especially with 5% on gas and travel, and with 1.5% back on uncategorized (reminds me of Redstone). Field of membership also includes some alumni associations that don't require any proof of prior enrollment at the schools (like University of Maryland Alumni Association), just pay a fee. Nice find!

Can anyone confirm that being an alumni of University of Maryland worked for them on being a member? It doesn't allow me to select it as an option when going through the become a member process?

Am I understanding correctly that the 5% gas and travel have no caps? Also, what counts as gas (at the pump only or inside too?) and what counts as travel? I couldn't find these answers.
