Amex Plat Aproved after a burn!

Got an in with Amex after a burn. In 2016, I burned Amex for around 12k and never made them whole. Today I decided to pull the trigger and this is what returned!

Here we go again! Why is the community celebrating an individual who burned a company for $12K?? 🤷🏿‍♂️ Forget DP'S, OP should not get kudos for "not making them whole", only for paying his bills. We've all had high balances on credit cards! However, I never considered stiffing AMEX or any other company an option. Come on people!!?? 👎🏿

Yep...here we go again....

We are not celebrating that the OP burned AMEX...but rather that he got approved for AMEX after their 'financial stumble'. We are also not here the judge others on their past mishaps, etc, but I am glad others share their experience and DPs of their own specific journey. We all can learn, grow, mature from these experiences.

AMEX is fully aware of what it is doing. They are big boys in this industry.

The business of Credit Cards and unsecured debt lending is probably tricky, high risk, and yet high rewards, for both the issuer and user. If the issuers/banks are at too much risk with issuing CCs and other types of unsecured debt they are welcome to exit the industry so others can possibly takeover their share....or maybe it's too lucrative for them to miss out even when considering their loss reserves?

They re in the business to make money....and that they do.
